MyChessRating.com ("we", "our", "the service") provides chess tournament management and player rating lookup tools. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
When you create an account we collect:
When you register for a tournament we collect your name and any information entered by the tournament director (ratings, section, etc.).
We store server-side session tokens (in an HTTP-only cookie) to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking cookies.
The mobile app does not require an account and does not transmit any personal data to our servers. Ratings you enter in "My Ratings" are stored locally on your device using your phone's secure storage and are never uploaded.
The app fetches publicly available player data from USCF and FIDE via our server-side API. No identifying information about you is sent during these lookups.
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties, except:
Player names and ratings displayed in tournament standings and entry lists are visible to other logged-in users of the service, consistent with how chess tournament results are publicly reported.
Your account and profile data are retained for as long as your account is active. Tournament records are retained indefinitely as part of the historical record.
You may at any time:
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS. Session tokens expire automatically. We do not store any payment credentials.
